Tim Hunt

Hi my name is Tim Hunt I am the owner/manager and the driving force behind Topclass Driving School.

I am married to Leanne, my wife of 13 years and have 4 wonderful children Sarah, Robert, Bethany and Fred who I like to spend as much time with as I possibly can when I am not teaching, or running the business. I’ve lived in the Medway towns all my life so know the local area very well. I believe driving should be fun and like to think I provide informative and productive lessons in a calm and relaxed atmosphere and I like a joke or two along the way. I cover the Medway, Sittingbourne and Sheerness area and provide not only hourly lessons but also intensive courses. I teach in manual as well as automatic and am also head trainer for our driving Instructor programme for those wishing to become a driving instructor.

I still enjoy teaching learners and oversee the day to day running of the business, but the bulk of my work is now training local people to become driving Instructors within our Ultimate Training Course. I also provide regular updates and in-house training for our franchisees and continue to nurture our new qualifiers. Between 2014 and 2019 and being aware of imminent changes coming to the driver training industry, I completed several more up to date rigorous and very comprehensive instructor trainer programs run by Phil Hirst, and completed the Tri coaching partnership instructor training programme run by Graham Hooper and Susan McCormack. I now belong to ADIT (The Association of Driving Instructor Trainers) and I am a grade A DVSA Instructor and a member of the DIA (Driving Instructors Association).

I have worked in the business now for over 25 years and have gained extensive knowledge in sound business practices and up to date teaching/coaching methods. I still attend and complete various courses within the driver training industry and belong to several ADI business/mastermind groups. This enables me to not only better my own knowledge and gain new skills, but keep up to date with changes within the industry and any new teaching techniques which I can then in turn pass on to my own learner drivers, trainee driving instructors, and franchisees. I still love the buzz I get from seeing a pupil pass their driving test or a trainee qualify as a driving instructor, knowing how much I am changing their lives for the better.
